I burned red faction cd1 by renaming it to .iso from exe and burned it using a data burner. Now it works fine- i just have to open the contents of the cd to start the installation. at about 70% it asks to insert cd2, another file that i burned to a cd using a data software, after renaming it to .iso. It wont read the cd so i can never install the whole thing with cd2. i found out it was corrupt-cd2- and dl'd a non-corrupt version, i ran out of cd-r's and used a blank cd-rw. My comp is not a cd-rw writer, and i dl'd alchohol 120 to burn the new cd2 iso. still won't work- you think it could be the cd-rw cd? or am i doing something wrong?

Red Faction is CD-Checks cd protected= SecuROM
I hope you still saved the iso(s) because your best option is to use Alcoho120%. Set the virtual drive(s) to 2 and then mount both images. Tick all the options in emulating options (for now) then install the game from the 2 virtual drives and see what happens. When you do get some more cd-r's, use these settings to burn Red Faction using CloneCD 4.2.0.2:

    Reading:
Read subchannel data from data tracks: on
Read subchannel data from audio tracks: on
    FES: on, Retry 0
    Intelligent Bad Sector scan: on

    Writing:
    Always close last session
