i burned a dvd a nd it worked on my computer, but wont play on my home dvd player, did i do something wrong ??
You will have to give us more info than that..what format is DVD + or - R. Some DVD players prefer one over the other.
Only thing I can suggest is that your old DVD player doesn't like burnt copies... I pegged mine out and bought a newie and it plays anything.
Hey dont leave it there I may be completely wrong...sit back and see what other ADers say. Cheers. Why not try it in a friends machine.
I also think it's cause your player is new, but what exactly would make me more credible than her. You could try booktyping, which will change your booktype from DVD+/-R, which can't be read by the older player and gaming consoles, to DVD-ROM, which is the universal booktype and should work in all players. However not all burners can booktype.
GlueEater, No biggie but you can only booktype dvd+r media not dvd-r media to dvd-rom. _oilers, First we need to know the make and model of your dvdrw drive to tell if it is capable of bitsetting/booktyping and we'll go from there. Mort
Your drive is capable of bitsetting. I will pm arniebear and ask him to join in since he has a plextor 716 and will know the easiest way to bitset with it. I'm sure it can be done with dvd decrypter but I think there is a setting in plextools that will work better or just as good.
