Try changing the Jumper to master. Have you Used the EvoX dash to backup your BIOS and etc.?

well i thought i done that when i copied the files From ftp to my pc i thought it took care of all of that. i pressed back up on my soft mod just to get the right files updated.

Ok here's a good question. can I change the hard drive on a soft mod xb without a installed mod chip in the xb.?

and If so How can I do it .

If your using XboxHDM, chose option 1 after both HD's are connected IDE(not for sure about SATA), then choose the option to clone hd, if you HDD your are cloning is the master, then type in hda, and for the HDD that is being cloned to, type in hdb. I've done this sometimes and the screen has lasted for 5 hours+,I just turned off PC and locked the new HDD and placed in Xbox. Worked with jumper settings on master.

You have to lock the drive using your eeprom. Get it off of your old hard drive using something like "Config Magic" or "EvoX" and recreate the Xboxhdm image including the eeprom in the folder titled "eeprom". Then after you have your hard drive created, lock it using the third option and use the switch: "lockhd -a". You don't have to mess around with the jumpers, just put it to CS and you'll be fine.
