What Goin' On

    My Hitachi GD-8000 DVD-Rom started actin' weird lately. It Reads my DVD slow now. Whats Wrong with it

    Go into device manager
    Look for IDE-ATA/Atapi controllers. Open them up and make sure dma/udma is enabled or if available.Make sure those channels don't say pio mode. Pio mode will definetely slow it down.

    If those channel/s are in piomode. Uninstall the drivers from that channel and then reboot. Windows xp should hook them back to DMA or UDMA mode.
