loads of things wrong in your burning setup, surprised you can burn much at all..here goes..... - ASPI layer is corrupted, try this, version 4.71 from here - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm - my God that version is out of the bible, update to latest 6.x version, 6.6.0.16 (Update-Package 1) from here - http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php - if your drive is an iomagic IDE1004 drive, which i think it is, your burner's firmware is also out if the bible. Version 0151 is here - http://www.iomagic.com/Firmware/FirmwareDownload.html under the IDE1004 section - DMA needs to be ON, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm - you're burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space - oh God, you're using some of the most awful, atrocious utter rubbish dvd media there is. get decent media, and glance at my signature for reasons not to use CMC media - turn off IMAPI. here's some good info as to why you should turn it off (change it to manual instead of auto) - http://www.ntcompatible.com/thread25657-1.html i think the easiest way to do it is via this - http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/creaky/untickcdrecordinginXP.jpg - this error is probably a symptom of all the other problems - the ASPI drivers are supposed to be listed in this section, along with the ATAPI drivers. sort them out as i've listed above and they'll appear in this section
[bold]I think I'm getting closer to a solution here but I'm still having burn error problems. Since my last post I have upsated my ASPI layer to 4.71, updated to the latest version of Nero 6.6.0.16, updated my DVD Recorder to the latest firmware V.0151, switched the DMA on if available for both the primary and secondary IDE channels, set the target size to 4300MB in DVD Shrink, and using Sony DVD-R media instead of CMC junk.
