I have been using anydvd and clonedvd2 for awhile and it has been working quite well. Lately, tho, when I backup a movie it will play just fine until it reaches the last 1/4 of the film. I am think it might be the media because I am down to the last 15 of 100. I dont know if it is dvd-r or dvd+r. the recorder is i/omagic 16x external. I recently did some firmware updates for it too. I even burned the movies at 1x it didnt make a differnce.

The scans from those posts look pretty nasty on the end of the backups.

Try reducing the backup target to 4300 mbs. This will keep the burn from reaching the outer edge, where uneven dye may exist on the lower quality media.

I'm not sure of your programs, but if you use dvd shrink:
Edit/preferences/click dvd-5/scroll till custom/enter 4300 next to custom/click ok. This target is set. Get some quality media in the future, then you can increase to target to 4360 mbs.

You could also download the freeware vso inspector, it scans the backup for errors so you know there is a problem before you try to play it. Kind of like the verify option in dvd decrypter, which will work as well.
