I just got a sony dvd recorder, I went to make a back up of one of my dvd's with a DVD-R disc. I used DVD encripyer* and then used nero 5 to burn it on a blank disc. When I got to play the dvd after it is done buring it only plays the very last part the dvd which is a advertisement for dvd from that company. When I play the burned dvd in my computer the whole movie comes up but the chapters are screwed up and says it only has six. What should I do?
To start with your Nero is way out of date, its now up to Nero7 so update that also post your nero log from here Program Files -> Ahead -> Nero -> NeroHistory.
Hello rgmuckli. First of all, your version of Nero is really really out of date. Nero is now up to version 7, although version 6 also works well for the most part. Did you use DVD Decrypter to rip only the main movie title files or did you rip the entire disk? If it was the entire disk there probably wouldn't be enough space on the blank to hold the entire thing. Your problem could also be due to outdated firmware on your drive or poor quality media or something else entirely. Big help, huh? It would be helpful if you posted the model number of your burner and the firmware version. This info is available on the right side of the DVD Decrypter window. Nero usually creates a burn log called NeroHistory. It's been so long I don't remember if Nero 5 did or not. It's called NeroHistory and is usually inside the Nero folder which is inside the Ahead folder within Program Files. So the usual path in Nero 6 and hopefully also Nero 5 is Program Files -> Ahead -> Nero -> NeroHistory. If such a log exists, please post the last section only that begins with your name and program serial number, deleting both before posting. This helps a lot in diagnosing the problems you may be encountering. I'll also post a link to some guides that may help you in the future: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/guides.htm
