I have a Toshiba SD4800 DVD player hooked into a HDTV via S-Video cable. The picture starts in color, but after about 30 minutes the picture goes to black and white. The color comes back at times but only for a few seconds. Is the problem the S-Video cable? Any help would be appreciated!
Does this happen with all movies or just one?? Color fading is sometimes caused by playing the wrong video format as in playing a PAL video on a NTSC machine. You usually may get some rolling lines or picture with this also. If its with all movies I would check yor cables first as you suggested, then next I would think it is the player going bad. May possible be something heating up after that first 30 minutes. Bad or loose cables will usually show up if you wiggle them while playing a dvd. Jerry
