My brother has Smallville Season 1 on 6 backuped copies made by DVD X Copy and I have been having problems trying to make a backup of his backup. I tried DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, & Nero. I have DVD X Copy and tried to copy it but it doesnt even read the disc, it keeps saying insert disc. We lost the official discs of Smallvile, I wanted to make backups of his for myself. Does anyone have any idea what I could do? Also, When I tried using DVD Shrink it said VOB 1_5 or something wasnt working or something like that, even though the DVD plays fine. Any Help Please?

It should be real easy if it's a backup. Did you compress when you did first back up or did you just split it sveral time. Either way this should be pretty easy, you should be able to burn on the fly even, just keep speeds at 2x or below and you use quality media. I don't see a reason why you should use shrink at all.

@bam1234e, just curious...I can make backups of backups as long as the first backup was done correctly and on good media. I can backup some cheap media with certain dvd rom readrs...like my Sony can read and place the movie, using Decrypter as an Iso image, then I can burn that imge with Decrypter or ImgBurn at 4x and it is perfect. But if I place the cheap media in the Nec or Samsung they most of the time cannot read it...that is why I made the switch early on to great media and know I never have a problem backing up a backup...Use Decrypter in Iso Read and then booktype (if it is +R media and your burner supports it) and write the image with Decrypter or ImgBurn. Both are free and do this very well.

Backing up copies made with xcopy has always been a little tricky.
Another reason not to use xcopy anymore.
