Ok, hypothetical situation. I have two ccunts on my xbox. i softmod it and get one of them banned. Then i play with mods on the other account and get that one banned. Does Microsoft and Bunhie have the legal rights to do that? I called up Xbox live services the oter day and they said they could! they said ,"if they mod on multiple acounts we can ban there xbox." Can they really or did he mean if your cought modding on like 3-4 differnt accounts? ( not just two )
Oh they most certainly have rights to do that, and you agreed to them in the end user license agreement when you joined live. Let me make thie PERFECTLY clear for you right now. If you get "Banned" for modded maps on H2, "BUNGIE" bans you from Match Making...just that gamertag...not your other. If you sign onto live with your mod or chip on, "MICROSOFT" bans your xbox. You can't play on live w/o a new hard drive, new eeprom and new gamertag. Whoever you talked to was spoonfeeding you shit, probably because you called them and essentially admitted to cheating their service. But they can't ban your xbox for cheating on Halo2, Bungie already made that clear, no matter how many accounts you go through. But if you sign onto live with a hacked bios, or running unsigned code, Bungie has nothing to do with it, Microsoft does, and they ban your xbox and it sucks. Especially when it's you pimped out Halo LE with a 300 GB HD. ooops.
I don't softmod, but I will tell you this, if you log onto live without booting from the original MS BIOS, you will get banned for good. I haven't softmodded anything since the days of Bert and Ernie fonts and pheonix bios loader. I don't know how the the new softmod dual-boot actually works, I know you boot one way to go modded, one way to go retail and then on LIVE. And I think some of the newer softmods like NDURE and UXE2 block you from going on live when modded. Aside from that, every 4 or 5 sign'ins, MS scans your HD for modified content, specifically the E:\tdata folder that contains the Halo 2 map packs. They see that, you are as good as gone, whether you modded in MM, custom, or never got a chance too.
