I'm trying to back up some data (5 movie files) onto a DVD using Nero. When I burn to the disk, everything works until the Verification and it then says "Verification Failed" When I explore the disk, it says the files are on there but it will not open them. Any ideas?
here is a screenshot of the problem http://img480.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ver9mc.jpg wasted 4 dvds trying to get it to work
Hi there, I think I have read in the past, that nero fails a lot when doing a check after burn. Most people don't use it ! [bold]Comments on this anyone ?[/bold] They burn, make sure the burn was successfull, then check the media with: VSO Inspector / DVDInfoPro They both do a sector by sector scan etc...
well i can open the dvd in my computer after burning but it won't open the files it will just load for ages and then stop responding normally or come up with a message saying can't open
Hi again, Provide us with a full Nero log. (Remove your serial # on top) We should have all the needed details in there. Burner model, firmware revision, what media (Media ID) you are using, what speed you are burning at etc...
Well there in lies your problem , its way out of date now up to 7, but update to 6.6.0.16 and then try again and hopefully that should solve things..update from here http://www.nero.com. Good luck...let us know how you go.

I dont think you have to pay for upgrade if you fail then try this link http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/nero.cfm Medium means the DVD discs you are using.
i did a lot of research before buying them and DATAWRITE are one of the best makers of DVD's look them up on the internet
OK far be it for me to disagree with anything on the Internet just ignore my advice on medium and update your Nero Another question do you have a DVD burner as it looks like only a CD burner.
Disc Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG, Media Type ID: M01, Product revision number: 0
You are using the bottom of the barrel blank Disk.. Probaly Memorex.. try some better media (Blank disks) maybe Verbatiun or TY, etc. Do some searches for good media here at AD.. For me it's Verbatium, for life....
That isn't a DVD+/-R recorder, it's DVD RAM. And you are using DVD+R and it's CMC mag so it's not good even if you have a DVD+/- recorder. Am i wrong here?
here is a link to the dvd's i'm using they're DATAWRITE TITANIUM DVD+R from what I've read, they're meant to be a good quality http://www.burn-media.co.uk/acatalog/Datawrite_Titanium_16x_DVD_R.html
