my burner is making Coasters...HELP!

I have an all most 2 year old Pioneer DVR-105, never ever gave me a lick of trouble. I use the last version of DVDdecrypter then i use Nero Burning Rom 6 to burn the movie. Everything goes just like normal till the very end of the burning process (45 minutes later) an error happens and the disc wont burn. The problem is intermittent and i can't figure out if it's my burner, the Media or what. I usually never have a problem with these discs. The brand is called "Platinuim" DVD-r i got them at Micro Center last year. Sometimes they burn.....sometimes i get coasters.

is Season one of Arrested Development copyright protected or something?

I'm confused. This problem with bad un-burnable DVD's and burning Errors happed all around when decrypter went off line.

yeah 6.6.0.16, but no on the firmware. I'm doing that right now....i did some fishing and found some info on the discs. They are Bencole Platinum Series 4.7 4x. and they apparently suck. I've had no problems till now though so i doubted it was the problem....maybe it is. but is Arrested Development or Tim Burton's BATMAN copyright protected? Niether burned at all i went through 3 discs each ( at various speeds) till i decided to quit.

 

You say you get some coasters? Make sure your burning at the slowest speed. You will get a burn rate of 99% success with no pixels or messed up scenes. Your drive my be out of alignment I say this because my first burner used nearly all the time doesnt burn very well anymore (has about 80% success now) whats nice is I get my errors on the read phase and dont usually waste disks. The reason I know its the burner is I have another one in another computer identical burners and it works on that one. As burners are almost free I suggest getting a 2nd one, when you get an error switch to the 2nd drive and usually that will solve your problem. Again I cannot say this more USE THE SLOWEST BURN SPEED POSSIBLE!

 

That is probably the problem for you. Make sure to use high quality media such as genuine Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim and Maxell (made in japan). In addition, make sure all your burning applications (both Nero and DVD Decrypter) is up-to-date, and your burner's firmware as well.

Can you post the error that DVD Decrypter or Nero generated? For Nero go to C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory -- and now remember to take out/edit your Nero serial before posting on here alright.

 

My Nero is upto date, i updated my firmware...thank you Gwendolin, and i'm using the most current.....and last update of Decrypter. I burned first at 2x, then at 1x.....both produced internal target errors. I also suspect i got a bunk batch of media but don't know how to test it...or read it if i did.
