I need firmware for my nec 3540A

I am looking for the best/fastest firmware for my NEC 3540A for dvd ripping/burning.

Also I am looking for a new drive but not sure which one to get that will have the fastest firmware available.

I have been reading about the "lite-on 16p9s" and how fast it is. Is this one of the fastest ones out right now??

Ok looks like I am using the 1.W7 on my nec 3540A which looks like what I need.

With the 1693 does it have firmware you can download to make it run realy fast??
