cant play avi. movies smoothly in full screen

    l have a desktop with p3 733 and a display card of intel 82810E graphic controller 6.5MB. l use windows 98SE, mplayer ver.6, directx 9.0c and ffdshow, but l cant play some high resolution avi.movies smoothly in full screen, some of them even have video slower than sound, so is p3 733 fast enough to play divx/xvid movies? or is it the problem of the display card?

    Enable CPU usage in ffdshow's OSD and see if you are maxing out or not.
