I just burned my first movie on a DL disk, and the burn was successful, however it does not play properly. It doesn't ever reach the main menu, only the intro, on my "cheap" rca tv. I decided to play it on my computer. It also stops right before the main menu. If I go to the root menu i can play the movie through the chapter menu. The movie is an exact copy. What is wrong? I use memorex disks, memorex external all disk burner, nero 6 recode, and the burn-at-once function with advanced analysis is this a problem with the burn-at-once function, or should i have burned it in nero vision express?

Don't double space your log like that, it actually makes things more difficult. I think you have your burner installed incorrectly. It can't find your ATAPI. This usually is a 3 line. But your drive doesn't recognize the media I guess. Here is where your drivers should be listed but it's not, so that means I know almost for sure that you don't have your drive installed correctly. And on something not found in the log: If you want to burn DL I have heard that you should use Decrypt instead of Nero b/c it will handle the layer break better.
You do not need to use Recode to do a DL you do not want to change anything, what you want is an exact copy of the disk, so that the layer transition is placed properly. You would be better of using Nero Express or Burning Rom which will create an image of the file, Recode is breaking it down in files and that is not what you want. Thanks for the help, but if my drive isn't installed correctly then why did the burn come out successful. Also, i did reburn it using nero express (burn dvd files) and it burnt successfully, but it only works plays back on the burner. I even put it in my other dvd drive on my computer, and it makes a lot of loud noises, but doesn't play. The first dl played the intro on my tv, but then froze. I understand why not to use recode. I have a dl copy which will play on my burner and a compressed dvd-5 which will play on everything else, so im not going to try another copy, but next time i will just use decrypter for both reading and writing the disk.
oh, 1 final note, the log came out double spaced, i couldn't help that, i tried to fix that but it would take forever.
