download speeds of 20 kb/s,on my connection thats a joke, and i want my money back
have done daily adsl speed checks, rsults come in a measly 300 kbp/s
    and on a 2 mb,thats what i call a rip off

[bold]just wanted to let the world know that i am pissed,..big style[/bold]

But 300kb/s is a good speed for 2meg.

How long ago did you sign up? sometimes it can take a few days to 'configure' itself and get running smoothly - mine did

nah,300 kb/s was the speed test,
it should come in about 2000 kb/s
    are you on uk-online?

No, but a friend of mine is and has had no probs. Do you mean the communication speeds or the download speed?

    Do you mean 300kbps?

    Because 300kb/s is download speed

Well that's an improvement - give it 2-3 days. Trust me. Mine was cutting out, doing 4kb/s when i first switched to AOL. But after it sorted itself out, it was kool. Give it time Hursty ;)

yeah man,the speeds do improve, like first thing in the morning, came in at about 900,but come the evening, the speeds are like so slow
you can expect some sort of slow down, whe the lines are busy, but not to this extent

those b*****s are throttling the bandwidth, its just proving it

watch this space, see if things improve

    thanks for the link :)

LOL. Anyway I wish BT would upgrade the telephone system in this country (England) so we could get better speeds. In Japan and South Korea a 2 Meg connection to them is like a 56 K connection to us. Bog standard. Bulldog advertise an 8 Meg service but it only reaches that speed in London.

the service sucks in this country,
i was happy to plod away with wanadoo, but they were about to kick me off for downing 100 gb a month on a 2 gb limit

    hehehe

just been waiting on hold for 1 1/2 hrs for technical support with uk-online,the message says,10 mins max

    what year is this????

1956???,you would have thought so,with this service, some old guy pluggin in the connection pin....

    same old rip off britain

high speeds are mainly available in the inner parts of london, and uk-online have the cheek to advertise 22 mb speed

no one is offering true unlimited downloads with the true connection they offer

ntl/bt/tiscali/wanadoo....the list goes on....all the same [bold] limited downloading[/bold]

I am on AOL and I get unltd dloads. But I only live 5 miles away from London and the max I can get here is 1.1 meg, but I suppose the closer you are to London, the sooner they will upgrade your connections.

That's so true hursty. The phone line's in this country are from like the 40's. We need our telephone system to be underground so we can acheive cable speeds like Japan and South Korea. I always read the small print on broadband offers as there's always a catch somewhere.

    Heh...

O.K, so your speeds aren't great. Just because somebody else can get better speeds, doesn't mean you have to start moaning about yours. Hursty has a problem which we are trying to put positive input into. If all you are going to do is whine that you have bad speeds, do it on the phone to your ISP

    @ xboxdevil
Why don't you look into satellite broadband. It might be ideal for you if your telephone system can't cope with broadband.
