NOT BOOTING UP!!!!

HI,
My Xbox is a bit funny! when i try to put it on nothing comes up on screen and when pressed on the eject button the light will keep on flashing and nothing will happen!!!! when i keep pressing the eject button after 70 times or something!! then it ejects and everything starts working, the picture comes on screen and i can play but whats wrong with it? why do i have to keep doing that!!! please let me know! i am good with an xbox i do know how to fix one up inside and out someone help me and tell me the explanation thanx!!!
