My Pioneer DVR-108 has been playing up for about a month now. About 1 in every 5 DVD's dont complete burn. All dvd glitch every 5 minutes (some every 30 seconds).

There is only one burn speed, thats about X 1.3 so it takes about 35 min to burn 4.4GB. Even if I select X 56, it will still burn at X 1.3

Any suggestions as to what may be wrong? Or would it be easier buying a new one?

It might be easier to let the forum know, what kind of media, (discs') you are using, and burning program etc?

Mainly I use these cheap printable 4.7gb 4X speed discs. Ive tryed others (Sony DVD-R/RW, high quality) and same thing happens

I've never had problems with the, always burn at around the 4x mark.

Infact I just went through my paper bin to get the lable out, from the last bunch i bought, to find out what sort they are and it says Pioneer DVR-A03/104 users must update your firmware to support this media.

they give a link, ill try it.

EDIT: tryed the link, couldnt find nothing to download from there:
