    Hi Everyone,

I am new to the whole game here, so please excuse my idiocy (I am in the I/T field though, so I do have a grasp of computer concepts). I have both DVD decrypter and DVD shrink with NERO. These programs work perfectly for a few discs, but most of the time, the following happens: Whenever I use the Decrypter, the read rate drops to 0kbs and all times are 'unknown.' I have read scuba Pete's Guides and believe that all my settings are correct. When these drop to 0, my dvd drive doesn't sound like it is spinning anymore, and it makes a soft "clicking" noise every couple of seconds. Also, Read errors start piling up. I realize this is part of the problem, I am just not sure how to correct it. Any help or tips would be appreciated, or if more info is needed, please ask. Need all the help I can get. Thanks a lot.

@ ddiggler hi :) and welcome to AD
usually this occures if you have
    a bad press....return get replacement
a dirty disc ie thumb print etc....give good clean try again
scratch/s.....as above you may be lucky
bad copy....whose ? yours or someone elses
in all probability its a scratched disc.
if none of this works give us a run down on the way you go about your backups
