I went though about 20 disks and then I gave up cause I had spent about on hour trying it so far.It says "drive not ready or disk nto inserted"

Your Nero is out of date, current version is 6.6.0.16.

Your DMA is off here is how you can fix this, it is a guide written by Alkohol:

((To enable DMA back ON by "uninstalling" it's driver “for Win XP users”))

A) on "DESKTOP" right click on "MY COMPUTER", left click on "PROPERTIES"
B) left click on "HARDWARE", left click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
C) left click on + sign of DVD/CD-ROM Drives
D) double left click on your DVD burner or your dvd-rom drive
E) left click on "DRIVER", left click on "UNINSTALL", you will see a "Warning: you are about to uninstall this device from your system", just click "OK", now "SHUTDOWN" or "restart" your computer
F) once you restart your computer, Windows should automatically detect your DVD burner’s drive and re-install it for you. That's it...easy as smoking!!

NOTE: do these steps only if the above process failed to bring DMA back on, or you can do exactly like the above steps, except this time you "uninstall" it from the “IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers”

(A) left click on + sign of "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers"
(B) double left click on either Secondary or Primary IDE Channel (burner's driver are usually "Secondary Channel")
(C) click on "DRIVER", "UNINSTALL", "OK" and then "shutdown" or "restart" your computer. That's it... easy as smoking!!!
***NOTE: you have to know where your "DVD Burner" or "DVD-ROM drive" is installed to what Channel). Usually it's the "Secondary IDE Channel" because your "C: drive or Hard Drive" would be the main aka Primary IDE Channel already. If you're not sure, then you need to check it with "Nero Toolkit" first before you "uninstall" any of them. Once you verify with Nero Toolkit, then you can continue with the above steps.

I don't know how it works w/ CDs but in the DVD world CMC mags are crap.

 

my DMA is turned on again butt still says nothing is in the drive.......When I goto burn it says insert an emty disk? But like I said I went thur 30 or so.

 

That is a classic signature of CMC crap. Nothing in drive, or illegal disc (they really should be illegal to sell). You are lucky it stopped you now, instead of telling you you had a successfull burn, and finding out months later, it wasn't such a great burn after all. Don't even try to use this stuff, unless you have no other choice, and very few of us are limited to no other choice.

 

Oh, and wesjett08 edit out your serial number from your post. It is the one that starts with

Also Nero is now up to 6.6.0.18 for the 6x version.

Can someone please figure this out....Its been like 3 mounths since I last burned a cd and im getting pissed.

 

DMA is still off on that drive, and needs to be ON.
How to fix it:

Make sure you reboot when you un-install the driver and windows will install the driver on rebooting.
Some of the main things pointed out here need to be fixed. [bold]The version of Nero you are using, Use good media, and fix the DMA on that drive.[/bold] Any one of these things could stop you from getting a good burn.

 

If all else fails. Look into updating the controler in your system.

I think it is up to version 3.64 now but may still be 3.63x where the x means some letter.

To update it may depend on is it build on the motherboard, is it oem, or is it truely an adeptec controler card added in the system.

Theres a log after my last try,I just got down with my computers tech support and their solution did'nt even work.I think its somthing phyical in the burner itself thats broken or somthing.

"Oh for the love of my burner" lol back when I started this thread I was about ready to snap the drive in half,I still am but you get my point.

 

- looks like darn pesky DRM copy protection to me...


I did another TRY without that song and it still did the same.The DMA on that drive is my cd rom anyway.

Not getting thru to you on the Nero update i see. VERSION 6X is [bold]6.6.0.18[/bold] not 6.6.0.12 its up to 6.6.0.18.. Planet Earth calling wesjett08.. NERO needs to be updated!! Whew,, i hope that one got thru cause i aint saying it anymore.. See prev posts for link to update nero. GlueEater, LocoEng, and myself have all pointed out the old Nero version, it could fix your problems, only if you listen to us and update..

Try shutting down some programs. Something is using up 75% of your memory.

I have even uninstalled nero and the drive still does it....so thats not it.

when it see's nothing in it,the program aborts itself not me..
