DVD Decrypter I/O error (Logical unit communication error)(Ultra-DMA/32)

I just got a hand me down pc and I installed a burner and this is my error

I/O error

Device Lite-on DVDRW sohw-16935

Scsistatus:0x02
interpretation: check condition

Interpretation: Logical unit communication error (ULTRA-DMA/32)

how can I fix this ?

I/O errors cover a multitude of sins, but both of the above, will solve your problem.
