i'm trying to convert my .vob (by using dvd shrink) file to a .wmv file using windows media encoder but i keep getting the error message: one or more codecs require to open this content could not be found (0xC00D1B83). is there a step i'm missing or should i try different encoding software? i'm trying to put this movie onto a cell phone, sorry if this is in the wrong section i'm new at this stuff so bare with me please!
You may only be missing some codecs. Try download and install K-Lite Codec Pack (full or mega version) from this site. Good luck!
Not a codec problem? Hmm, in that case try Power Video Converter or Advanced X Video Converter. Good luck!
ok i downloaded the x-video converter and i can convert it but when i try and view it its only audio and no video.
With X Video Converter, try set video to xvid and audio to mpeg layer 3. Also, which media are you using for viewing?
i'm trying to view it on windows media player 10 so i can transer it to my cell phone which uses wmv 9. i'll try the settings you recommended and see how that works. thanks
maybe i should just ask this question: I want to take a dvd and shrink it down so i can put it on my phone, what programs do i need?
ok i think i found the problem, i have an ati graphics card and i heard that the codecs can conflict with windows media encoder. how can i override the ati settings or delete it?
