Hey you guys. I just bought a Kosch Divx DVD Player. So far is has been awesome. My question is: How much divx video can a DVD hold? For example I have the Simpsons Season 16 in Avi (xvid). Thats about 9 hours of video and its only 4 Gb. (the disc didn't work by the ways). But if I have that much movies on a disc, will I lose quality? Now for the divx movies. Example I have Mennace 2 Society, Land of the Dead, Wedding Singer, Faces of Death, LA Confidential and Family Guys. They are each 700mb. If I was to burn them onto 1 DVD will the quality be worse? since that is over 7 HOURS of video. What will have a better quality? A divx movie on a single 700mb CD, 2 movies on a DVD, or as much divx files I can fit onto a DVD? Becuase on the disc it says 2 HOURS of video.. Thank in advance you guys. I can and have done this by trial and error. But it is hard for me to compare and see the difference. I d rather have your guy's opinions and expertise. Thanks Guys.
Doesn't matter, in each case the files are the same and you aren't going to increase quality by taking a 700MB encode and re-encoding it to make it 1.99GB's to put on a DVD. On the other hand if you had the DVD's and wanted to convert to a DivX avi, then the 700MB one should look noticably worse than the 1.99GB encode. I wouldn't put a bunch of unrelated movies onto 1 DVD though since it makes it too hard to keep track of stuff. About the 1.99GB. Most players don't like UDF when it comes to avi playback.
