After I backup movies to dvd-r with DVD-Shrink 3.2, they end up playing incorrectly on my player, which is an Apex AD-2500. What I mean by incorrectly is, the video is in widescreen format when on my computer, and it looks perfect. After it burns to the new dvd and is played on the Apex, the video has been 'compressed' into a fullscreen format, and everything appears taller. I'm not sure if theres some settings I have to change or what, but this is certainly not how the video is on my computer, so something is happening in the burning process thats distorting the video.
When you play the backup on your computer does it play as widescreen or fullscreen? If you dont see the change when you play it on the computer then its a setting on your Apex DVD player or TV thats forcing it to play fullscreen and not widescreen.
It plays fine on my computer from the backup, but not sure what options I'd adjust on the dvd player. I think I've tried adjusting them all.
a backup changes nothing that was on the original. find the options for "output" to your TV in your player's setup menu and try the dif options till you get the output you want. check out your owners manual. You didn't mention whether your TV was a widescreen or a "square" TV but the player has to be set for output to your kind of TV.
It has to be a setting on the DVD player or TV like I said before. Burning the DVD to disc isnt going to change the widescreen or fullscreen format. you can see this by placing the burnt DVD into your computer DVD drive play it and if it is widscreen when you play it on your computer then it will play widescreen on your DVD home player unless you have an option on the DVD player or TV thats forcing it in fullscreen mode.
