downloading movies is illegal, unless you purchase said download from a reputable site, and even then, burnig it is iffy and telling someone how to burn such an illegal copy will get you banned from this site.

    please read forum rules.

see here we hit that grey area of the rules. there was no movie title stated, and since there are hundred of free, non copywritten, independant films out there, we cant just assume the guy downloaded star wars or something. as long as no one links to movies, or provides specific info on how to download copywritten material then it does not break the rules anymore (it used to a year or two ago). the guy is having a burning problem, or not knowing what to do with a certain type of file, so the issue and the solution can be given without stepping on anyone's toes and getting aD in trouble. we just provide information, it's up to the people to use it for evil doings, which is something we cant control and as long as we dont know that is what he's doing, then we can still help out. it's when you get the folks that come in and go "hi i just downloaded the new harry potter from big-giant-jumbo-torrent-stash.org, how do i burn it?" thats when we gotta tell them to take a hike because it's more than obvious they're up to no good.

@chromesn, where does it say that downloading movies is illegal? I do it as I am sure most members do , I am not condoning the illegal downloading of movies but there are sites available where movies can be shared.
@yu-8 can you supply more details of the movie you wish to burn and what burning programs you have.

see darth's post. yes there are sites where d/l movies is perfectly legal.
    such as this one:
    http://www.archive.org/details/feature_films

however, not being a mod, you're correct in saying (darth and gwen) that i don't know what will get you banned here.

i prefer to err on the side of what is safe, seeing as how there's an inquisition going on in america lol.

trust me, we prefer people that lean that direction and try to motivate others to do so. it's the ones that purposely walk the fine line between good and bad then try to justify it that really brun my bloomers!
