Have any members had experience in doing a backup copy of a DVD protected by ALPHA-DVD by Settec.
I have tried to use just about every piece of copy software available with DVD REGION+CSS Free running in the background wit no success.(Also tried DVD43 in background)
Alcohol120% would require 484 hours and then questionable.
DVDFab appeared to copy first chapter and indicated it was finished but video-ts folder contained nothing.
Other software also encountered problems after about 1%.
I am about at my witts end.

I like to have backups of all my Cds and DVDs, similar to Program CDS, for obvious reasons

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Well first I'd remove DVD43 and install AnyDVD (free for 21 days trial)

Then I'd install DVDecrypter. Use it in brute force mode, and see what happens.

See Pete's guides .reee. the use of Decrypter.

Thank you, Gringle and Rotary. Your advice was most useful.
However, I did not have success using AnyDVD and DVD Decryptor.
I ended up being able to produce a SVCD Copy using AnyDVD in background and AoA DVD Ripper to convert it to SVCD. The resultant copy is not quite as good as the original, but it is acceptable.
    Thank you once again.
