Hi guys,i made the mistake of not checking properly and ended up buying single layer discs when i have a dual layer burner, will these still work, will dual layer burners only burn dual layer discs exclusively or do they also burn single standard 4.7gb single layer discs??

No problem at all burning DVD5's in your DL burner. This is normal. I do it all the time in my LG.

Just make sure that your firmware is up to date for the media type that you are using. You can check the latest firmware at the last link in my signature block. Just do a search for your burner.

I recommend Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell, Sony media in my preferred DVD+R format (so I can booktype to DVD-ROM).

    Cheers.

Reading the link that you provided I think indicates that you do need DL media.

Others will look and I am sure make comments. Not being a Mac user I am not sure about the requirements.
