i recently downloaded a movie in kvcd format and burned it onto a cd with nero- and it played in a regular dvd player. i have alot of avi files and the like - tv shows- or even other movies that are not in kvcd format, when i used a few different programs to convert the avi files it almost trippled in size, and i wouldnt be able to fit it on a cd. if anyone has suggestion, id appreciate them thanks simcha
Buy an MPEG-4/AVI player and burn them as is. Sounds like you converted to a regular VCD. This will give you 10MB's/min. So if you have a 90min avi, then it will be 900MB's as a VCD. If you were impressed with KVCD, then you could encode as that instead. This will allow you to fit much more per disc.
KVCD is supposed to be bad quality and VCD specs only allow for 4:3, so that is all most players will do. You can still do widescreen, just not anamorphic.
Well if it is widescreen then ~50% of the screen would be black borders, so it would compress better.
