    After successfully using dvdshrink to backup and using dvddecyrpter successfully to burn a disc of "The Best of Triumph the Insult Comedian Dog" I found when I tried to play the disc that it would not play. I then attempted to play said disc on my computer and it also would not play. I recopied it, thinking that the individual disc was bad. The second disc (both were TDKs) also would not play Any ideas as to what would cause both of these programs to work yet not allow me to play said disc.

    You say you used TDK disks, what format +R or -R , this sometimes make a difference, some players are picky about the medium

    @Normanl
    Run one of those discs thru decrypter and post back the manufacturer id. TDK does not always use good manufacturers and this could be part of your problem. Stick with quality discs like Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim. As gwendolin said the format can make a difference also. Older players usually don't like the +r though your burner is more than likely dual format or it won't have burned the disc.
    Make sure you are not burning at max speed - stick w/ around 4x - high burning speeds can also cause problems.
    Also make sure your firmware is up to date on your burner.

    No. I suspect however that the problem is as you mentioned, the TDK blank discs. I used another brand I had on hand and it worked fine. Once again, thanks for the info.
