    Hi,
CRC Error meant your dvd media got problem. What kind of dvd disk are you using by the way? Are you using memorex or princo? Or perhaps you are using dvd media made in Taiwan.?
Change your dvd media to verbratim, taiyo yuden, fuji, or maxell that are made in japan not taiwan.
At the same time upgrade your dvd writer firmware by using the link below.
    http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php
I hope that will solve your problem.

Didnt quite follow that. Is there a problem with my DVD writer itself? I have a sony DVD RW DW-221 vbys2. I didnt have a problem until I reloaded everything. I use decrptor fine, shrink appears to work but every time I try to burn I get a wright error. I went to the firmware site but it said no updates available. What am I missing. Did the service pac2 update change some settings

    michaelrf,
First of all, your nero version is too old update to 6.6.0.18.
Second, your burner doesnt like the dvd media that you are using.

Please change your dvd media to some quality dvd media like verbratim, taiyo yuden, fuji or maxell that is made in Japan not Taiwan. For god's sake stop using Phillips and JVC disk because they are junk dvd media. After updating your nero to 6.6.0.18, open startsmart and choose copy and backup and click on burn image to disk icon.

    Hi there,

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1944
    Latest firmware is BYS3.

Humm I can't find that version on the Sony Site !

    6x is a weird speed :)

Keep it at 4x MAX, or even 2.4x, when testing burning issues !

See what Nero has to say about this error

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/FAQs_Error_Messages.html#12

I think those are Roxio Packet Writing drivers, Get rid of that stuff.
Same goes with Nero InCD, it will cause you more problems that pleasure.

    Good Luck !
