Hello, I am new to this forum. I can't do a backup of the Seinfeld Season 4 / Disc 4? It says "failed to read from the VTS_05_0.IFO" What does this mean and can it be corrected? I had no problem with the first (3) discs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Take care!!

Well, I went to a local video store and rented the fourth disc and it still won't do a backup for me. Still reads "failed to read..." Sounds like a copyight issue for sure. I only wish they would have done it on the first disc and not the fourth. Now I have three coasters. Oh well...

Did you try DVDFab Decrypter that I linked to above? It's free and almost always does the job.

Yes I did but it did not do the trick. I even tried DVD Shrink with the same results. Thanks anyway for the advice.

There's a new version of AnyDVD available to combat some new protection. It decrypts in the background and has a free 21-day trial.

Try disabling AnyDVD and just use DVDFab Decrypter and see what happens. Seems I had to do that a month or so ago to get something to work. I hope you don't also have DVD43 also installed.

Disabled AnyDVD with no results. Now it reads "get DVD information fail. 4096" Also tried DVD shrink and Nero 7.

If you were able to burn 1-3 and not 4 I'd STILL say it was the disk.

    Try getting even another one.

I downloaded Alcohol 120% and it copied the disc but would not play all the extras but the episodes played fine so that's a good start.

AnyDVD and DVD43 do not get along. I assume both are installed. I refuse to use DVD43 myself. Uninstall. You may need to use Device Manager to uninstall your drives and then let WinXP auto install them upon startup. There's a new AnyDVD out today as well.
