I had a question in regards to purchasing blank dvd discs. I have been imformed through this site that one of the best brands for burning dvds is Taiyo Yuden. I have contacted several stores in my area and none of them carry this particular brand. So, I guess I'll have to buy them over the Internet. Does anyone out there know of a reputable website to order Taiyo Yuden from. In addition, I like to know what other brands that the readers of Afterdawn would recommend. The folks who frequent this site seem to be very knowledgable and helpful and I would certainly, as someone relatively new to all this, appreciate any advice.

Sony, Verbaitum are also good media. Stay away from memorex, optodisc, princo as they are crap!

I've always used Sony and never had a problem.

Not sure where you can get TY's on the net.... ebay?

DO NOT do what Deline said. Ebay TYs are all fake. If you want TYs from a local store got buy SONY or Fuji, but they HAVE to be made in Japan. If it's not MIJ (made in Japan) then it's not TY. Sony uses TY in there MIJ media. Besy buys is haveing a sale for Sony right now. 50 pack for 18 bucks. It ends today. BUt some are MIJ others are MIT (made in Taiwan, STAY AWAY) so you have to search the racks.

Other reputable stores would be Supermediastore.com and meritline.com.

Guess Ebay is a bad place to get media, sorry! Like I mentioned before I've never bought media on the net, but if I ever do I'll know not to get it from there. Thanks for the info GlueEater!

Another top notch media that can be found online or in local stores is verbatum (best imo). Another good online store is newegg.com.
