Ok I have seen some members on this site state that they have upgraded from the stock and standard harddrive to larger harddrive. I have seen some claim that the have put in a 300 gb harddrive. Now I know that the Standard Xbox Harddrive is a ATA-66 harddrive, but I have some questions that I hope many of you can answer. First what is the RPM of the Standard Xbox harddrive? Can I install a ATA-100 or 133 harddrive in my xbox? Does the 7200rpm of most standard harddives effect the xbox positively or negatively? Can I get a harddrive from any manufactuer or is there certain harddrives I have to purchase? If so is there a site where I can find what drives are compatiable and will give me the least if no problems? As you all can tell I am a complete Newbie!
Ok heres a quick answer . The most imporant thing is it be lockable heres a site that tells you which ones work and which do not http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/ good luck .
