I see how everyone likes to brag about what type of system they have and how they built it themselves and have all these incredible bench mark scores. But I never see any online tutorials in pdf or video format that shows step by step what is needed to build a PC and how to do so properly? I mean I am a complete beginner and I have some basic knowledge but not enough. Is there any sites, video files or pdf formats that can show me how to build a decent pc on a 800-900 dollar budget? Can any of you all help me out. I really would like a video file to show me more than reading words online. Sometimes seeing it done is better then reading how it is done.

There are alot of How To's available via the Internet, but not sure about Video's. One of my favorite sites is www.extremetech.com. They will advise you on building budget PC's up to High-End Gaming Machines. Toms Hardware has some decent stuff out there too. It's really alot of fun; you just have to get your feet wet and go for it. The best way to start out is to build your own budget PC. Then, go for the Monster of your Dreams!!

Good luck, keep us posted on what you find out and how you like the site.

Hey thanks Starbuck1. I will definitely try out extremetech.com. I have tried out tomshardware and although I love their informative page, I didn't really find any useful information pc building. I love to read but I really would like either picture illustration or video along with typed material to double check and help those that are accident prone. But I am definitely going to try out extremetech and let you know my progress on building my pc. So do you have any suggestions on components I should try on a budget? I am more partial towards AMD.

To DDP: Really love the pcmech.com link. Great typed illustrations and dansdata.com was useful as well although many of the illustrations are for components long considered obsolete. Really appreciate the guidance.

To Rugripper: You are the freaking man. NOw this link is what I am talking about. Pictured illustrations like I asked for. Simple and easy to follow language and not all that techno jargon. Easily one of the best links I have found. Maybe I will become that Master BB even though my screen name is for novice bodybuilder although now I am a bit more advanced now. Thanks to both Rugripper and DDP. YOu two are upper echelon in my book.

To Rugrippper: Yeah I am a bodybuilder but I am a beginner in all the pc, xbox and ps2 modding. So I guess you can say that my handle has dual meanings. But really appreciate the link you gave. Still reading up on it now and love this damn link. I just notice your specs for your computer that you have. Man what type of scores you have with that thing. Please share.

To Rugripper: That site may be old but it is good enough trust me. Man I can't believe you got up your CPU up to rated 4400+. ALL I can say is wow! I can't wait to see if AMD will come out with a 3ghz and beyond Socket 939 cpu before they phase into socket 940's.

Yeah I heard you can do a lot with those Opteron Servers. Now I hear you can have up to 2 dual core processors and up to 16gb of DDR 400 ECC ram. Imagine the scores with that one. But I still can't wait till AMD offical release a 939 Athlon 64 Process at 3.0ghz or faster.

the only part i dont like about that how to is the spreading of the butter on the processor.use a tooth pick.use it like you were holding it with two hands and just streeting off with the as5.use one hand though, hold like it sideways...ok?dont use the bag lady trick...lol...peace...if you dont understand i will send you a video through that invitation again...ok?...peace
