i was trying to back up the DVD on a Ritek DL 8.5gb at X4 speed. i used dvd decryptor to rip and burn. the curious part is it plays the movie on my stand alone player but when it gets to the 22 chapter it freezes and it jumps back to the beginning of the previous chapter. you can also hear the dvd is making some noise when it gets stuck on that chapter. i did 2 copies using this disk type, same deal. do you think its the media or some protection issue.
well meltstorm it could be the media or dvd player i think it might be the dvd player depending on what ur dvdplayer could play example i have been using memorex dvd'r and i had problems playing it on my dvd player so i went bought a new one and that dvd player handled the dvd r issue as well as alot of other dvd'r i been using
I doubt if it is either player. It seems you have either a-lot of dust on the disc or the disc itself is faulty. Give it a good clean and try to play again. If it still does the same thing then you have a slightly damaged disc. I am assuming that playing other DVD9 discs (pre-recorded) does not produce the same result? Always take care in handling blank discs and clean with soft tissue before burning. Also try using DVD Shrink instead of Decrypter which is fully DL supported (you need to set for DL output in settings).
