Selecting DVD burner Region

    Hi,
    I just bought a LG GSA-4167B, and saw that the Region tab in the properties had not selected a region yet(says 5 changes remaining).
    I wanted to know is it necessary for me to select my region(I'm from Canada), or can use my burner without setting a region and just use Nero to burn my Movies/Data? What importance does the region have?

    I think it's only important in reading disks that have a region code other than 0.
