DMA is off, try turning it on: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking DMA.pdf I don't think the drive recognizes the media. For firmware, try searching here. http://cd-rom.free-driver-download....21-340-DVD-R-DVD-RAM-Drive-Firmware-A123.html or here http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Firmware/Home.aspx Looks like it is up to date.Did the drive come with a list of supported media?
