    Hi All,

I got a dvd player which plays divx. How do i get subtitles to work with the appropriate divx file on my dvd player?

.divx files should contain embeded xsubs. Pressing the subtitle button on your remote should toggle them.

nope, it is definitely not embedded.... i needed to download an .srt file to add on to it in order to see subs in bsplayer while i watch the movie/program. for me to see that on my dvd player, do i need to tack on the srt in the same folder, or what?

Well if it is a divx file then like I said it should use xsubs. Not sure if a player would even look for external subs with a .divx file. For an avi file, if the subtitle has the same name then it should work on most players since most support external srt's.
