Has anyone ever heard of dirty disc right after you have burned a disc. What I am talking about is after I burn a disc I go put into my dvd player and it will not play and will say dirty disc. Does that mean I got some bad disc. I have maxell dvd+r dosc.

    Hello klv.

Here's some possible causes for your problem:

    1. Dirty lens or bad laser on standalone player. Does it play other disks OK?
    2. Burned disk at too fast a speed. Burn at 4x or at most 1/2 of rated media speed.
    3. Burner firmware needs updating. What is the brand, model number, and firmware version for your burner?
    4. What program did you use for burning? Is it up to date? If Nero, please post the last section of your burn log omitting your name and serial number. Sections usually begin with your name and serial number, e.g., 1A.... Most other burning programs also have logs. Just be sure to omit your name and any serial numbers before posting.

    5. You may need to booktype your +R media as DVD-ROM for your player to recognize it. Does other burned +R media play well in the player?
