iPod video HELP please!!!!!

ok guys i'm new here i got a 60 GB Ipod video about a month ago I found alot of usefull info from you guys just browsing the stickies i have read through them all and tred every program listed and i could get a video converted i did get one program to work i think it was cursoft and i converted happy gilmore well i got happy gilmore into my iTunes libary but i couldn't get it on my iPOd it said that this file type couldn't be played on this iPod wihich i don't undestand because it is mp4 and its is the right resulation i am getting very adjeted at this point so i saw a thread with torret sites listed and decided to download war of the worlds already in iPod format now this video went onto my iPod but i get no video it plays fine in windows but on my iPod i just get a black screen for a couple minutes then it goes back to the menu well i know someone out there can help me

also i have a problem with iTunes that i'm hopeing someone has gone through i have windows 2000 installed and after i install iTunes i can open the program once or twice then the third time i get an hour glass and the program just doesn't open no error message or nuthin

are the videos your converting to mp4 compatable with quicktime? Because I believe they have to be in order to work in the ipod. When I convert my videos through Nero there is an option I have to select to be compatable with quicktime.
