MOVIE SOUND EDITING TOOLS

    Hi guys !!

    As a newbie and trying to learn a bit more about movie sound editing tools,can someone assist me with the followin:

    I have downloaded a few movies which come in the original English version but a translator is speaking over the original soundtrack.

    Is there any program with which one can delete outside sounds from a movie sound track?...eg. take off the translator's voice.

    I have been able to so far separate the sound from the movie,surely there mucst be something out there with which one can now separate a foreign source from the original sound?

    what type of files are they? (AVI. VOB etc etc)

    Some are Avi but others can be converted into any format to be able to edit the sounds I guess.
