Can anyone help me out here?

I can back-up regular DVD-9 movies no problem but no matter what I do I can't get AVI files to work for me. I've tried converting them with winAVI, Cursoft, and TMPGEnc. They DO convert to DVD files but all of the files I've used end up not playing on my DVD player at all OR they will for about a hour then start freezing up or skipping 5, 10, even 20 minutes of the movie.

I've tried encoding it with Nero and DVD shirnk and still no luck. This has happened on 4 different files so it's not just one bad file.

    Any ideas???????????

    Hi there,

Most playback problems (Freezing, Skipping, etc...) are usually related to:

    1- Cheap Media
    2- Burned too fast
3- Burned too close to the edge of the media.

Use quality media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim.

Burn slow, x2.0 or x4.0 MAX

If you use DVDShrink or other tools that let you choose the size of the output, try to set it to 4300mb.

If the output plays fine on your PC (PowerDVD, WinDVD etc..) but not in your DVD Player, it's probably Media Issues.

    Good luck !
