My good friend is got tired of his modded xbox and went back to pimping out his crazy gaming PC. He offered me what was left of his xbox,and so I grabbed it. Version 1.0, new DVD and chameleon chip. No hard drive came with it, so I stuck in WD 40 gig I had laying around. No clue what bios. A RF cable, no controllers. A project! I turn it on, and I get error 16. I burn Slayer's autoinstall to a cd-rw (and dvd+r, and cd-r) and it results in the same error screen, but with a diagonal chunk out of it. Error screen has a LCD-looking error in the left corner, and a message from "superfro" at the bottom advising me to check online for more info about errors. Apparently all worked before my friend took the drive out. So, I know the virgin HD has no dashboard (error 16), and the clock is wiped because it sat for so long. I just need your advice on what is the best way to proceed- I have no friends with xboxes to do a drive swap. Is there any way to flash the bios? I don't have a chip reader. Some weird chameleon thing? Thanks all! -rj
i not the best modder but i now what i talking about and i think in this certain situation your screwed.Sorry to tell you the bad news.find someone wit ha working xbox and flash the bios.
