When I watch a file, it will sometimes suddenly fast forward for a second or 2, and then return to normal speed (the sound will also speed-up) Also sometimes the file will stop for a little while, and also cut out the sound, anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

    Appreciate your help

Btw this has only recently started happening, I recently installed a new gfx card (geforce FX 5500) and I use the FFDShow codec.

Again, appreciate any and all help

Well, I solved the "lapses" i.e. getting stuck and jumping a bit forward while skipping sound also, by changing the codec to an older version of ffdshow, but the fastforwards still presist, can anyone help?

    appreciate it.
