I had to to a complete system restore on my Windows XP system. Since then I have not been able to play ant DVDs on my system. I am still able to use my DVD drive for all other functions, music playback, data storage & retrieval, etc. I am even able to rip and copy DVDs. These ripped DVDs play fine on all other DVD players in my home. When I attempt to play them on my computer the playback is extremely slow and choppy and the video & audio are out of sync.

I am using a Plextor Dual Layer writer, Verbatum Dual Layer disks, Windows XP, my system has an AMD Athelon 1900+ processor with 1 mg ram.

Does this sound like a writer, codec or video card problem? I am stumped.

Try this, go to START> Control Panel> Sounds speech and Audio> in trouble shooters click on DVD and follow.
