I am using DVDFAB...just installed.....I put in my DVD..Constantine.....Extracted, Decoded, encoded,, whatever it is you call it to C:\FabTemp. After it finished it created two subdirectories called: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS....Not quite sure what they both are. Then I used DVD Shrink...opened the VIDEO_TS FOLDER, reauthored, then burned using Nero 6.6. Its working okay in my stand alone DVD player....Have I done this correctly?? and should I use the same procedure all the time? Please, help, not quite sure what I did right, and if I can do again correctly....Why is it when using the DVD Shrink, it only would let me select the VIDEO_TS FOLER?? What was the purpose of DVDFab to make a AUDIO_TS FOLDER????? This is all quite purplexing....Please, any help, state it in plain english, and not pc/burning lingo, as I'm failry new to this...I really need a NEEEEEWBIE guide to all this stuff.... I have ANYDVD, DVD DECRYPTER, DVD DECRYPTERFAB, DVDSHRINK, AND NERO 6.6. Whats the best way to burn copies of my DVD's. I've read many postes in these forums, and everyone is using something different!! And all their techniques and methods seem quite different...Surely you must get these questions alot, but you have to admit, there is alot of infor on these forums....Trying to decide which way to go is quite disconcerting. Thanks in advance.
just keep doing what has worked for you and never mind other programs all programs create a video and audio folder video folder conmtains all the video info if you click on the video folder you will see all the files that are part of the dvd
juliano, You have alot of questions all bunched up together, so I will try to answer them as best as I can follow. On most movies that you back up- You will have both a video and an audio folder. There usually should not be any info in the audio folder, so whatever program you use in the future, always pick the video ts folder if your program does not automatically pull it up (some programs are automatic, others make you go all the way to that last folder where everything is- which is video ts) Shrink only let you select video ts because audio had nothing in it As far as what is best - it really depends on what your needs are for each movie you back up. Different programs offer different re-authoring features. So as you become more familiar and confident with your back up/burning, you will know what you need as you go along. You did it correctly if everything is playing on your dvd player the way you want it to. ------ I have several different programs that I utilize depending on my needs. Nero Recode is what I usually use, but sometimes I use Shrink, Clonedvd2, aven fabdecryptor. Sometimes one programs gives me problems and another one wont - like I said - really depends on my needs and what is most important to me for each movie backup.
thanks guys! with all the info here, its hard to decide which to use. I'll take your advice and use what worked for me last time. The Audi_ts folder kinda threw me, didnt know what the heck it was for....
Here are a couple of great guides for the programs that you are using: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup with DVDFABDecrypter,Shrink,&Decrypter.pdf http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup with Decrypter&Shrink.pdf Follow these guides step by step and you will have great backups. Cheers.
You guys are always a great help! Much appreciate the replies and links for additional help...getting my New BenQ 1640 pro DVD Burner soon...cant wait!
@juliano Here is a great report regarding your new benQ. Thought you might be interested in it. http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/226
Thanks 9mmruger, I didnt see any mention of what exactly the 1640 Pro had differently from the 1640.....or are they basically the same?
I guess I am not sure if there is a difference. I have an LG burner. This report is not that old though. Beginning of september 05. You might try a visit to BenQ website and see if you can find a difference. Cheers. Check out the DVD Burner forum. Lots of info there too.
