Not sure what you mean by split it up?

I backed up my Lost Season 1, just did a full disc backup for each disc....

Can you give us a little more info on exacly what your trying to do? That way we can help you more =)

You could use DL media and make a 1:1 backup copy with DVD Decrypter:
    1. Set the Mode to ISO Read and rip an iso file to the hard drive.
    2. Set the Mode to ISO Write, select the MDS file associated with the ripped iso file, and burn.

This free proggy (DVD Decrypter) is hard to find now.

You need a DL burner, some +R DL media booktyped to DVD-ROM, and up to date burner firmware.

To divide a series disk onto 2 or more DVD5 disks without menus, you can use DVD Shrink (free) or any number of commercial programs, some of which keep menus and some allow for creating your own.

I use DVD Shrink and set the compression for the episodes I don't want on the disk to "Still Image" and backup the whole disk. That way the menus are retained and active. If you have Nero, you can use NeroVision.

Some of the season disks have all episodes combined into a single title to thwart spliting. In that case you'll need to use the start/end frame feature to select the episodes you want. In Shrink this is in the Reauthor mode and you'll lose the menus. I'd use NeroVision or another program in that case.

You may need a background decrypter like AnyDVD if the disks have certain copy protection schemes.

thats what i was gonna do was just back up the full disk with shink but the compression ratio would be 57% trying to make it better
