    Personally I don't use the dual layer disks for cost reasons. If your going to use a program like DVD Shrink its pointless to use them anyway because its whole function is to get a dvd-9 to a regular size disk. I use DVD Shrink this way alot and have been happy with the results, but you usually loose your menus and extras in order to limit video compression in the backup.

    If you want to preserve menus and everything then the DVD rebuilder works pretty good. I'm just learning to use that program myself, but it worked well for me on Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I got it down to 4.3G and looks to be pretty good qulity. Check out this thread:

    also, DVD decrypter is a great free ripping program to have for disks that DVD Shrink won't rip. You rip them in file mode and then usually DVD Shrink will work from there or DVD Rebuilder which ever route you go. Check the GUIDES section to learn more. Great info there to learn these programs.

    @riggs0008

    If you plan on using a dl media then do not use Shrink to burn it, use either of these free programs. DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn these progs will make an exact 1.1 copy of your movie. You use them in iso read and then write mode and both will place the layer break on the backup perfectly.

    @ybor

    Glad that RB is working and you were able to backup your movie.
