How much/Whether DVD2One compresses?

I've read through the messages on this forum regarding compression and my own experience with DVD2One shows that the movie quality is quite good if the movie is not too long. Just have a couple of questions that I couldn't find an answer on:

1. Since DVD2One lets you leave out sound tracks/subtitles that you do not want, it may not have to do any compression to the video to make the whole movie fit on one DVD. Does any one know how much space a sound track usually takes (Dolby Digital vs. DTS vs. PCM). I'm guessing about the size of a CD...but that's just a guess ;)
With this info, we can make a reasonable estimate of the "uncompressed" size of the final movie consisting of the video and only the desired sound track(s).

2. A suggestion to the DVD2One developers: Letting the end-user know whether any actual compression to the video has been done vs. simply removing the unwanted sound track/subtitles with the video unchanged. You could probably make a guess based on the processing time but a confirmation would be nice. Only psychological, but nice to know that the video is still virgin.
