Many programs (e.g. DVD Fab, Apollo DVD Copy) let you do that with ease.

Hi there. I've just gone through being similarly confused by everything! I have two dual layer burners, and had no clue where to start or who to ask - and half the threads I read were so confusing I felt like giving up! I am now only partially confused, but having done various trials and tribulations, I have found love at first sight with the AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 combination. It is dead easy to use, does fabulous 1:1 copies, and since getting this combo I haven't had a single coaster, even with movies others seem to have had probalems with! I can certainly recommend it as a good and easy starting point, and the cost is low (after the free trial, so you have nothing to lose), and AnyDVD is regularly updated to deal with new ways of stopping you ripping! And you can also get rid of annoying trailers etc without any effort or a degree in IT!

You probably won't need the tip about buying good media - it's everywhere - but another tip I found: always clean both the original and the blank disk you are going to burn to, as even a microspec of dirt can get in the way of a great copy.

    Have fun - I am!

I use DVD Decrypter and it works great with AnyDVD.
It makes perfect breaks on DL discs and is easy to use.
